VSPB Associates has won an outstanding award for the project 'Eco-Restoration of Wazirabad Bundh' in Social and Community Heath Category. “The project exceeds all area of expectations in term of quality, standards and thought leadership of Design and Practice, making it an exemplary project and benchmark for others”

JUDGES' CITATION

Eco-Restoration of Wazirabad Bundh is an excellent example of transforming a neglected corridor in a dense urban setting (where open space is at a premium) through partnership and considerable community engagement. This citizen driven initiative by a local NGO focused on rebuilding a deteriorated forest and waterway as a linear barrier-free nature park. It is a wonderful project which no doubt changed the lives of those in the locality; it is a project which deserves a recognition both for its engagement with the community and for its reimagining of an old infrastructure. The use of native planting shows a clear respect for the natural flora
