Our practice, therefore, takes clues from real-time project experiences, research inquiries and teaching exposures. Each project is seen as a unique opportunity and the notion of ‘site’ as a social ideological-temporal entity. Research-based design method is explored and context, programme and material are three habitual pointers lending specificity to each of these explorations. Initial outcomes often tend to be typological alluding to what is known as the concept design. It is developed further after interactions with client and stakeholders, and then, realized on ground. Many projects that we encounter, have high aspiration and restricted budget for which cost-optimization becomes a key factor at all possible levels. Construction details are accordingly kept simple to execute and robust enough for easy maintenance. The use of conveniently obtainable materials and locally available construction techniques are opted for smooth execution with value-addition. These granular realities prepare the ‘ground’ for our projects.
